Our February 2019 budget – BANKS FAMILY BLOG

This post is showing our expenses budget for this month. We are a young, married couple aged 24 and 26 with no children. I will be doing a February actual spend post at the end of the month to see if we stayed in budget. Even though we live comfortably we still want to be able to stick to the budget and not spend money on silly items and too many takeaways…

I don’t budget for takeaways/food out and house expenses as we try not to spend money in these categories, but it doesn’t always work out that way!

Our biggest downfall in keeping within budget is the food shopping bill so please share any budgeting tips in the comments below!

I hope this has given you an insight into our February budget and keep a look out for my post at the end of the month comparing the budget to the actual spend. If you have any questions on this topic, please leave a comment.

Our January 2019 actual spend – BANKS FAMILY BLOG

This post is showing our actual spend for this month. January was a very long month so some of the categories are actually for 5 weeks spending rather than 4.

We were able to pay off both our car finances early this month so we now own our cars! This was very exciting for us and we have an extra £325 to put towards our other debt.

Please look out for my next post which will be our February budget. Fingers crossed we have a better month – I’ve just had to spend £260 on 4 new tyres already! If you have any questions on our January spend, please leave a comment.

I don’t budget for takeaways/food out and house expenses as we try not to spend money in these categories, but it doesn’t always work out that way! Also I don’t budget for credit card payments as we have stopped using our cards. We would use our credit cards for any emergencies i.e. we needed a new washing machine, but now we have savings which we use when situations like that arise.

Our biggest downfall in keeping within budget is the food shopping bill so please share any budgeting tips in the comments below!
